Going strong for that Kung Fu Panda 4 ! The DreamWorks animated film takes the top spot with nearly 200,000 downloads on its first day in France, including half in previews. It’s the second-best opening of 2024, behind Dune 2 (260,811 first-day admissions) and ahead of only Bob Marley: One Love (197,950 admissions).
In terms of the Kung Fu Panda saga, it is better than Kung Fu Panda 3 in 2016 (184,019), but worse than Kung Fu Panda 2 in 2011 (237,752) and the first part in 2008 (201,066).
Two French films on the podium
On the 2nd and 3rd positions we find two French films: The Green Promise By Edouard Bergeon, who can count on a significant number of revisions and No waveswith Francois Civil. Note, in position 4, the film is in competition at Cannes in May 2023: Queen’s gameUnidentified Jude Law as King Henry VIII and Alicia Vikander.
