Netflix: Before the movie hits theaters, season 1 of this popular series is coming to the platform without warning!

A complete surprise on Netflix. The platform has just added the first season of the hugely popular animated series with the biggest mystery yet, as it is Spy X Family. Adapted from the manga by Tatsuya Endo (12 volumes available from Kurokawa), the series is set in a fictional world pitted against two nations: Ostania and Vestalis.

A genius spy known as Twilight, the manga’s protagonist is tasked with a mission to approach a high-ranking politician in Ostania. To do this, he creates a new identity – Lloyd Ferger – finds a wife, Iori, and adopts an orphaned little girl, Anna.

However, he doesn’t know that the little girl has the gift of mind reading and that his wife is a contract killer who is also hiding under a secret identity. Oh, and did we mention the presence of Bond, the family dog ​​who can see the future?

A few weeks before the movie hits theaters

A story that combines humor, action and espionage, Spy x Family is one of the biggest recent successes in Japanese animation. As of 2019, the manga has sold over 30 million copies worldwide, including one million sales in France alone.

The series has also made its way into popular culture with many spin-offs, but also at cosplay conventions.

This first season airs a few weeks before the first Spy x Family movie hits theaters. Titled Spy x Family: Code White, this feature film, which hits theaters on April 17, is based on an original story and therefore does not follow the manga’s plot.
