PCC leader who attempted to kill Paraguayan senator arrested in SP

Elton Ramos da Silva had been on the run since 2023 and was arrested in the city of Diadema. Officers found explosives on site.

Elton Ramos da Silva, known as Índio and considered one of the leaders of the First Capital Command (PCC) of the Federal District, was arrested on Tuesday the 2nd, in his home in the city of Diadema, São Paulo. He had been on the run since the end of 2023 and was arrested based on information provided by the Integrated Force to fight organized crime of the Federal District (Ficco-DF). The information comes from the Metrópoles portal.

At the scene, police seized two rifles, pistols, ammunition, explosives, technological and closed-circuit equipment, mobile phones, vehicle documents, as well as the CCP statute. Índio also participated in an attack on Paraguayan senator Robert Acevedo.

The attack on the politician occurred in the Paraguayan city Pedro Juan Caballero. On that occasion, Elton Ramos da Silva and other PCC members fired at least 30 shots at the vehicle driven by Robert Acevedo. The senator’s driver and bodyguard died instantly. Acevedo was hit in the arm and superficially in the head. At the time, the criminal was arrested for his involvement in the attack, but ended up being rescued by armed accomplices who invaded the city’s penitentiary in 2011.

In Brasilia, Índio was considered an influential figure responsible for recruiting new members for the faction. He was the target of Operation Tabuleiro, launched by the Department of Repression of Organized Crime (Draco), of the Civil Police DF (PCDF), in 2014, when he was arrested and convicted of murder and drug trafficking.
