Minister Nunes Marques, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), accepted on Thursday the request of the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) to extend by another 90 days the negotiations between the federal government and Eletrobras on the Union’s voting power on the company’s decision axis.
“The parties have shown agreement regarding the request for an extension of the deadline, indicating that the company will benefit from this path”, specified the minister in an order.
Nunes Marques is the rapporteur of the direct unconstitutionality action opened by the Union to claim the government’s right to have a vote proportional to the shares it holds in Eletrobras after the privatization.
Negotiations are currently taking place within the Mediation and Conciliation Chamber of the Federal Public Administration, with the aim of an amicable solution between the parties.
