After a year full of twists and turns, most notably his breakup with Adele (Eleanor Bouvier), Bart (Héctor Langevin) takes time to rebuild himself in Tomorrow Belongs to Us. But what does the future hold for him?
At the CANNESERIES festival, we caught up with Hector Langevin, Bart’s translator, who spoke to AlloCiné about what the writers have in store for his character in the sequel to the TF1 daily soap opera.
Allocine: What’s your take on Bart’s evolution?
Bart became my best friend. I have been playing the same character for seven years. It’s crazy because eventually, I don’t need to play anymore. Then I became friends with Camille Genau and Raphael Volkoff. We are very close and it shows in our game. When we’re playing with other characters, it’s great to make those little connections. Ultimately, evolution can only be wonderful. And all this in seven years of the series. And I hope it continues for the next seven years.
It’s been a year for Bart in Tomorrow Belongs To Us. In his relationship with Adele, he was far from imagining that the arrival of her twin sister Eloise would spell the end of his relationship. How did you experience this story and were you surprised when you read the script?
It was crazy because it ended shortly after the Bart and Lois story. When they gave it to me, I immediately told myself that it was too early. The writers asked me to trust them and told me it would be crazy. And really, because it was super fast. We had to build and deconstruct everything in seven months. The script was insane, very well written. To be honest, we were very lucky. And I feel like we had the longest Tomorrow Belongs to Us plot since it ran for 9 weeks. The game was really crazy.
Adele (Eleanor Bouvier) was recently mentioned in Tomorrow’s Episodes. Can he return to the series?
To be honest, I don’t think so, because we want to bring Bart to other things.
Can we hope she finds love in the coming episodes?
We’ll leave Bart alone for a while. To put it kindly, Bart is a bit tired (laughs). It seems to me that the writers are going to leave him out a bit. A lot will happen on the spoon.
Can you tell us a little more about what’s coming up?
There will be a little change in the spoon and someone will want to leave. So Bart makes sure he doesn’t do it before the summer season, because otherwise it’s going to be complicated.
Sarah, Bart, Roxanne and Enora make a wonderful modern family. Will we see them sharing more scenes together in the future and what does the future hold for them?
We recently shot a pretty cool scene together that will air soon. Bart will have to look after Enora and probably do something stupid (laughs).
Do you have any other projects outside of the series that you can tell us about?
I am returning from Guadeloupe. I was shooting for a TV series that will be broadcast on TF1 soon.
