60 years old, 1 Oscar: this charismatic actor scares us with this film, the first images of which we offer

Is Russell Crowe the Liam Neeson of the new Exorcism movies? After the role of the exorcist of the Vatican in Julius Avery’s horror film, the continuation of which is already known, the 60-year-old New Zealand actor Joshua John Miller and Ma.

This horror film stars the Oscar winner for Best Actor (for Gladiator in 2001) as Anthony Miller, a recently weaned actor who takes on the role of a priest in a horror film and gradually descends into psychosis. His daughter wonders if he’s back into his past addictions, or if her father is obsessed…

The first trailer, released today, already gives us a similar answer: Anthony is possessed. After trying to save children from a demon in The Vatican Exorcist, Russell Crowe finds himself possessed.

The Maximus translator shares the bill with Ryan Simpkins, who plays his on-screen daughter Chloe Bailey, David Hyde Pierce (Father Connor), Samantha Mathis, Adam Goldberg and Sam Worthington. The Exorcism is set to shoot in late 2019, but won’t hit US theaters until June 7. The minor success of The Vatican Exorcist, which grossed $77 million internationally on a $20 million budget, should hasten the release of the feature film. A French release date is not planned at this time.

Russell Crowe will appear in Sony/Marvel’s Kraven The Hunter alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson from August 28 and is set to join Rami Malek on the set of James Vanderbilt’s historical drama Nuremberg. He also directed two action thrillers: Sleeping Dogs and Land of Bad, still dated.
