I am pleased to announce that Bill Kramer will begin serving as Executive Director of the Academy starting today. I have every confidence in the Academy’s continued success with Bill at its helm, and I am excited for the next chapter of this remarkable institution. The gym is in the best hands.

How grateful I am to have served as its executive director for the past 11 years and to have shared a deep collective love for film. Thank you for your personal and professional support, your willingness to support the Academy when asked, and called a lot! – and for your commitment to moving this organization forward in every way. The last decade has been a testament to how innovative and bold a legacy institution can be: we’ve built a truly global film organization, a world-class museum, a relentless commitment to representation and inclusion, and a modern academy ready to lead a changing world. Thank you for your time, passion and expertise in helping to make it all happen.

I am committed to supporting Bill in any way I can, and I also know that he and our newly elected Board of Governors will decide the best way forward.
