George Miller, director behind the ‘Mad Max’ film series, confessed that he viewed disagreements between Theron and Hardy with optimism
George Miller spoke out about the well-known fight between Charlize Theron It is Tom Hardywho starred Mad Max. In an interview with The Telegraph (via NME), the director of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga— which opens in theaters May 23 — said the actors “were just very different.”
“Tone There’s something damaging about him, but also a genius that comes with it, and whatever was going on with him at the time, he had to be coaxed out of his trailer…” he continued. “While Charlize She was incredibly disciplined — a dancer by training, which was reflected in the precision of her performance — and always the first to arrive on set.”
“I’m an optimist, so I saw their behavior reflected in their characters, where they had to learn to cooperate to ensure mutual survival. There’s no excuse for that, and I think there’s a tendency in this industry to use great performances as an excuse for other interruptions that could have been avoided.”
