Johnny Cage is coming to your theaters soon! In the absence of a May 2021 Mortal Kombat movie, the character – played by Karl Urban ( The Boys ) – will be at the center of Mortal Kombat 2, whose release date Warner Bros has just announced.
The second part of the new video game adaptation will be released in American theaters on October 24, 2025 (probably the 22nd in France), four and a half years after the first part.
Once again directed by Simon McQuoid, Mortal Kombat 2 should pick up right where the first movie left off: Cole Young (Lewis Tan) announces that he is going to Hollywood to recruit a certain person. The camera then pans to a Citizen Cage movie poster worn by Johnny Cage, whose face is not shown to us. We still don’t know anything about the plot.
