Why doesn’t Daphne appear in ‘Brigerton 3’? Actress Phoebe Dynevor reveals the harsh truth

In 2020, audiences fell in love with the ‘Brigerton’ series thanks to the story of Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings. Their intense relationship made many want to experience a similar love. However, unfortunately, they were both left out of the third season. Here we tell you the reason.

Although it was known that these characters would no longer be the protagonists in the next chapters, many thought that they would continue to appear. The first surprise came in 2021 when it was confirmed that Regé-Jean Page, the actor who played the seductive Duke of Hastings, would not be in the second season of “Bridgerton”, which tells the story of Anthony.

Instead, Phoebe Dynevor, the actress who played Daphne, announced that she would remain part of the cast, much to the delight of viewers. Thus, she appeared sporadically in some chapters advising her brother and in her role as a mother, carrying one of her babies on various occasions.

For the third season, the actress was expected to reprise her role, but stated that she will not be returning to the show. At first it was thought that she might have had problems with a colleague or with the production, but she clarified the reason for her decision.

In an interview with Variety magazine, Dynevor explained that, in his opinion, Daphne had no real reason to return because her story had already been fully told.

She added that for now she’ll enjoy the “Brigerton” scene as a viewer, but if Netflix asks her to return in the future, she wouldn’t be open to the idea.

Why isn’t Edwina Sharma in ‘Bridgerton 3’ either?

Another person who no longer appears in the new chapters of ‘Bridgerton’ is that of Edwina Sharma, one of the previous protagonists. The actress who played her, Charitra Chandran, has not commented on her absence. However, in episode 2 of this third season, it is confirmed that Anthony Bridgerton’s ex-fiancée has indeed gotten married and is now living very happily abroad.

This likely means she won’t be returning to the series, which doesn’t bother fans as attention is currently on Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington.
