Preta Gil She opened her heart in an interview on the “Mil and Uma Tretas” videocast. Singer, who faced a battle with cancer last year, revealed that she has already undergone two miscarriages. The situation occurred when she was married the screenwriter and director Rafael Dragaud, who worked for 30 years at TV Globo.
Preta was five months pregnant when she lost her first child. “Until one day, during the ultrasound, the Francis [filho da cantora, hoje, com 29 anos] he was sitting on my leg and the doctor asked to take him out of the room. They don’t say the heart stopped. Until they told me the baby’s heart had stopped. We tried curettage and it didn’t work. So I had to have a C-section to get the baby out,” she recalled.

Months later, Preta managed to get pregnant again, but suffered another miscarriage, this time, in the third month of pregnancy. The singer felt embarrassed and explained the impact this had on her relationship with Rafael.
“I was ashamed of not being able to do it, of feeling incapable. It was chaos, but I overcame my feelings and lived. The second time I managed to do the curettage. This symbolized many things, and for us, as a couple, that was the end. I don’t think our marriage survived this.” he mused.
Preta explained that the loss was due to a malformation of a chromosome, caused by her incompatibility with her then husband. “We may never be able to have children. It was devastating…
