Despite this report, Sony Pictures did not immediately announce a sequel, leaving fans waiting. Only two years later we got the news, in February 2024! “The idea is not to recreate the first episode. The film’s post-credits scene was conceived as a continuation of the adventures of our versions of Nathan and Sally. I wanted the audience to know that, hopefully, this is not the end. It is currently unknown if Ruben Fleischer will return as director. We also don’t know when filming will start or when the movie will be released. We’ll have to wait until we know more. But the project is on the way!
For reference, Uncharted follows Nathan Drake, played by Tom Holland. He is a shrewd and fearless thief who is recruited by experienced treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan to find the fate of Ferdinand Magellan, who disappeared 500 years ago.
What at first seems like a simple heist ends up being a frantic race around the world to retrieve the treasure before the ruthless Moncada, who is convinced that his family is the rightful heir to the fortune.
If Nathan and Sally can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they could win $5 billion and maybe even find Nathan’s long-lost brother…but it’s going to take them learning to work together.
