“Brutal Pact” brings unpublished reports from writer Gloria Perez, the actress’s mother, and arrives on HBO Max on July 21
With its premiere scheduled for July 21, at HBO Maxthe series’ Brutal Pact: The Murder of Daniella Perez ‘ reconstitutes the trial involving one of the most brutal crimes seen in Brazil. Composed of five episodes, the production is directed by Tatiana Issa and Guto Barra, who wrote the screenplay.
The young actress and dancer Daniella Perezdaughter of the author Glória Perez, she was murdered in 1992, at the age of 22, by Guilherme de Pádua and his wife, Paula Thomaz.
Thirty years later, Glória Perez does not stop in her search for the truth behind this tragic story, which changed her life radically and forever. Over the course of the series, Glória shares her experience, while the production shows unedited tapes of points raised by the investigation and what was the double trial for qualified murder.
A mother’s struggle
Gloria Perez was persistent and spared no effort to ensure that justice was done and that her daughter’s killers were tried and arrested. Her struggle was intense, she tracked down witnesses, identified evidence and helped expose the authorities’ errors. In doing so, she played a vital role in resolving the case.
The series “Brutal Pact: The Murder of Daniella Perez” also has unpublished reports from family and friends, such as Raul Gazolla, the actress’s widower, Claudia Raia, Fábio Assumpção, Maurício Mattar, Cristiana Oliveira and Eri Johnson, among others.
