The woman the ‘Baby Rena’ stalker was based on is suing Netflix

The Netflix series Bebê Rena debuted in 2024 and was a huge success as it told the story based on true events of a stalker who stalks a comedian for years. The problem is that now the woman who would have been the stalker in the real world is suing the streaming giant, claiming that the facts depicted in the production are a lie.

In the series, the character presented as a stalker is Martha, but in the real world her name is Fiona Harvey. Through social media, she was identified by fans of the series shortly after the premiere and claims that Richard Gadd, creator of the production, lied about what happened.

“Baby Rena is the biggest lie in the history of television. It is a lie told by Netflix and the series creator, Richard Gadd, out of greed and a desire for fame,” Harvey’s lawyers say.

Gadd created, directed and played himself in the series (in which he goes by Donny). The comedian claims that the series is based on his true story, when he was chased for years by a stalker.

Fiona Harvey wants $1 million in compensation

Recently, a British MP came to Fiona Harvey’s defense. He asked Netflix to present evidence that Harvey was convicted of stalking, as shown in the series, something she says never happened.
