43 years ago, part of Mad Max 2 was filmed on the desert road that became iconic. Recall that in the film, Max helps a community of fugitives who are fighting road pirates. The fight is centered around the processing tank. At the time, it was the most expensive film in Australia, with a budget of about ten times that of the first part.
And one of the major expenses? series, an integral character in George Miller’s franchise and which was also the most expensive ever made for an Australian film at the time. Among them were the plains of Mundi Mundi and especially the road leading there.
Indeed, on X (formerly Twitter), Melvin Zedd, author of the book Mad Max – Ultraviolence in the movies, part 1, Released in 2022, named the best film album of the year by the French Association of Film Critics – in addition to proving George Miller – shared a photo of the crew of Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga in Mundi Mundi, recalling that the road was used not only in the last film in the saga (so far), but also in the second.
