On his Twitter profile, Eric Kripke, creator of The Boys, revealed that the fifth season will be the last of the series

It’s almost time to say goodbye. This Tuesday (11), two days before the premiere of the fourth season of The boysThe show’s creator, Eric Kripke, confirmed that the series will have a fifth season, but that it will be the last, marking the end of the superhero series.



The announcement was made on X (previously Twitter) by the screenwriter, also famous for having created the series Supernatural, from The CW. In the message, Kripke stated that this decision had been planned for a long time and that there was no more opportune time for this revelation.

“Season 4 premiere week [de The Boys] It’s a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the last! It was always my plan, I just had to be cautious until I got final approval from Vought. Excited to bring the story to a bloody, epic, wet climax. Watch season 4 in 2 DAYS, because the end has already begun!”, wrote the producer.

Launched in 2019, The Boys is a series based on the comics of the same name created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and published by Prime Video always in seasons of eight episodes.

With Karl Urban (Dredd) and Jack Quaid (Oppenheimer), The boys follows in the footsteps of a team of vigilantes, who decide to fight and take revenge on the Supers, a group of individuals with superpowers. Despite being acclaimed, the “superheroes” representing the Vought International corporation abuse their abilities and privileges, deceiving and posing a danger to the majority of the population.

One of Prime Video’s biggest hits, the series also had a highly acclaimed spin-off. Called Gen Vthe show takes place between its third and fourth seasons of production and was recently renewed for another year.

 

The fourth season of The boys arrives this Thursday (13) at Amazon First Video. The fifth and final season of the show does not yet have an official release date.
