After seven years, TV Globo returns to broadcast the main Rock in Rio shows of its programming live
In 2024 it will be even easier to watch the Rock in Rio from the sofa at home. After seven years spent on pay TV via Multishow and on streaming from Globoplay, Rock in Rio returns to be the protagonist also on open TV, with TV Globo offering the main shows of the event in its programming.
One of the largest music festivals in the world, the Rock in Rio 2024 is scheduled for September 13-22 at Parque dos Atletas, also known as Cidade do Rock, in Rio de Janeiro.
According to the F5 portal, TV Globo will broadcast live the presentations of the so-called Palco Mundo headliners, the artists who close the program of each day of the festival and are considered the main attractions of the show.
TV Globo broadcasts the main shows of Rock in Rio 2024
The first weekend of Rock in Rio 2024which celebrates the 40th anniversary of the festival, TV Globo broadcasts live on Friday (13th) the show of Travis Scott, on Saturday (14th) the show of the group Imagine Dragons and on Sunday (15th) the show of the band Avenged Sevenfold.
In the second weekend, Globo will present the performance of singer Ed Sheeran on Thursday (19th), the show of singer Katy Perry on Friday (20th) and the performance of Shawn Mendes on Sunday (22nd).
Saturday (21st), the Rock in Rio will have a special program, dedicated to Brazilian music, without international artists. The shows will take place at the same time, without headliners, and TV Globo will broadcast the combined Para Semper Rock, which closes the day, with performances by Capital Inicial, Detonautas, NX Zero, Pitty, Rogério Flausino and Toni Garrido.

In addition to live shows, as has been the case in recent years, the station will also broadcast a collection of the festival’s best moments in the early hours of the morning.
Created by Roberto Medina, the Rock in Rio It has been happening since 1985, when the event had its first historic edition which featured successful names from national and international music. Among the groups that reunited in this first edition were Barão Vermelho, Paralamas do Sucesso, Queen, Iron Maiden, Scorpions and AC/DC.
