President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has admitted that he will campaign in municipal elections, especially in cities where his opponents are “deniers”. However, the PT MP believes that care must be taken to ensure that his electoral efforts do not generate any kind of discontent in the National Congress.
In an interview this Thursday, 20, with Radio Verdina, from Ceará, Lula stated that the role of the President of the Republic requires more attention and responsibility in electoral elections. According to him, despite belonging to the PT, there are other political parties that form the basis of federal management.
“I have to consider whether these parties that support me compete in the cities, take into account who the opponents are,” he said. “I cannot be caught by surprise and have a setback of discontent in the National Congress,” she added.
For the elections, the PT MP said he will continue to work in Brasilia and, after 6pm, “when everyone has the right to go home, I will campaign for candidates who I think will improve people’s lives.”
Although worried about his electoral position, the president has guaranteed that he will campaign in the cities where his opponents are “deniers”. “In that city where the opponent is an ideological opponent, an opponent of the deniers, rest assured that I will campaign”, he stated.
