Korean projects are multiplying on Netflix, and the platform is calling on recognized talents to create new successful films and series. For several years, the American giant has been collaborating with Sang-ho Yeon, who became famous all over the world in 2016 with the zombie blockbuster Last Train to Busan.

Sang-Ho Yeon has directed three projects for Netflix — the sci-fi movie Jung_E and the TV series Hellbound and Parasyte: The Gray — and he’s directing a new one, we learn. The Hollywood Reporter. For his next feature film, Sang-ho Yeon has called on Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuaron! The latter will be the producer and consultant of the new project of the Korean filmmaker.

“Alfonso Cuarón, known for such masterpieces as ‘Sons of Man’ and ‘Gravity’, has had a great influence on my work as a director.he said. “I am excited about this opportunity to work with him to build Revelations and look forward to our partnership.”

So Revelations is the title of the new movie Sang-ho Yeon is making for Netflix, and it’s his own webtoon adaptation, which he’ll write with Choi Gyu-seok, Hellbound screenwriter and his webtoon collaborator.

This new thriller follows a missing persons case that will affect the lives of a pastor and a detective. When the pastor of a small church in a provincial town believes that he has found the culprit of his son’s kidnapping thanks to a divine revelation, he is consumed by the desire for revenge and will do anything to obtain justice.

A detective, himself haunted by visions of his sister who died in a horrific crime, is tasked with investigating the case after tracking down a suspect. But he will also investigate the pastor.
