Brazil will return with a suitcase full of the under 21 Pan American Judo Cup. In the tournament held this Monday (24th), in Lima, Peru, the country won 23 medals, including the men’s and women’s categories. In total there were 10 gold, seven silver and six bronze. The competition is one of the stages that distribute points in the qualification ranking for the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games.

14 men’s medals
In the men’s categories the highlight is the 66kg. This is because Brazil occupied the four places on the podium of the dispute. Ernane Neves won gold, Francisco Schier won silver, while José Tiago Filho and Bruno Nóbrega won bronze. The feat was almost repeated in the 90 kg, with Gustavo Milano champion, Lucas Ribeiro vice and João Segatelle third.
Also among the boys, Brazil had two athletes in the finals of two other categories. In the +100kg category, Gabriel dos Santos and Breno Dias Duarte won gold and silver respectively. In the 81 kg the champion was Enzo Trombini, while Luan Almeida came second. Arthur Santos won gold in the -73kg and Antonio Rocha won bronze. Marcus Ramos won silver in the 60kg.
Nine women’s medals
As in the men’s competition, Brazil also did the double in the women’s competitions of the Pan American Under 21 Judo Cup. Maria Clara Avelino, Eduarda Bastos and Ana Julia Sperling won gold, silver and bronze in the 63kg. In the 52kg, Rafaela Rodrigues won gold and Nicole Marques silver. Nycolly Carneiro was champion in the 48kg, while Isadora Cavalcante took bronze. To top it off, the country also won two more golds with Bianca Reis (57kg) and Olivia Oliveira (+78kg).
