The minions, Gru and his family return to the big screen with “Despicable Me 4”. In the new film of the franchise, the beloved characters welcome a new member, Gru Jr, the son of Gru and Valentina. However, the family peace is disrupted when the villain Maxime Le Mal escapes from prison and vows revenge on Gru for his past. Then the family should deal with it in the most discreet way and without putting anyone in danger.
The minions movies have become an audience favorite since their release in 2010, so it’s no surprise that the new story is creating high expectations among audiences. If you’re planning to see it in theaters soon, here are a few things you should know.
“Despicable Me 4” will introduce “new” minions
As seen in the film’s trailer, this new installment will introduce us to a new subgenre of minions: as part of an experiment by Silas Ramsbottom, five of these yellow characters gain superpowers that, following the comic tone of the franchise, promise to bring them more problem rather than helping them.
In ‘Despicable Me 2’ we already met another type of minions, the villains, characterized by being purple.
How long is the movie?
‘Despicable Me 4’ has a running time of 95 minutes, which is 1 hour and 35 minutes. It is within the average range of children’s films.
Does “Despicable Me 4” have post-credits scenes?
The new franchise film has no extra footage after its final scene. Although, as the credits roll, the minions make several funny appearances that some may want to enjoy. In any case, these animations do not advance details of what we can expect in future films of the franchise nor are they connected to the previous ones.
When is ‘Despicable Me 4’ streaming?
The streaming release date of ‘Despicable Me 4’ has not yet been announced, but it is likely to depend on its success at the box office: if it has a good collection, it will stay on billboards as long as possible, thus delaying its release on the platforms.
