Murphy plays Reggie Hammond, a convict who teams up with tough cop Jack Cates (Nolte) to catch two killers. Cates secures Reggie’s temporary release for exactly 48 hours, during which they must solve the case.

The first film to mark the collaboration between director John Landis and Eddie Murphy, “Trocando as Bolas” is considered one of the best American comedies in history.

In addition to establishing Murphy as a movie star, the film was the fourth highest-grossing film of 1983 and was nominated for numerous awards. Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd star in the film, which also stars Ralph Bellamy, Don Ameche, Denholm Elliott and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Akeem hopes to find someone who wants him for his inner self and not his social status. Luckily he starts dating a young American woman who thinks he is a poor foreigner. Now he must maintain his disguise.

In addition to Akeem, Murphy plays several other characters disguised in makeup. The cast also includes Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, John Amos and Shari Headley.

However, Klump develops a formula that helps you lose weight easily. To win the heart of a young girl (Jada Pinkett Smith), Klump tests the experiment on himself and briefly transforms into the skinny Buddy Love.

Murphy plays several characters using makeup and prosthetics, and names like James Coburn and Dave Chappelle make up the cast.
