It is his editing that saves A New Hope, which received poor reviews in test screenings, and is considered the savior of the first Star Wars. He would also be featured in (often uncredited) edits of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He won with Paul Hirsch and Richard Chew Oscar for Best Editing for Star Wars in 1978.
