Considered by many to be the best of all, the film released in 2002 features a child who disappeared from his parents during the ice age, but also a trio of very unusual mammals, including a rather grumpy mammoth (Manfred), but with a good Heart, a saber-toothed tiger (Diego), with a treacherous look, and a clumsy sloth (Sid), who will unite to help find the family of the lost child. Well, this cannot be called a very peaceful “union”…

The direction is shared between Chris Wedge and Brazilian Carlos Saldanha, in an adaptation of the original story by Michael J. Wilson. It is available on the platform Disney+.

Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006) / Credits: 20th Century Fox (advertising)

The second film was met with anticipation, directed again by Carlos Saldanha, written by Peter Gaulke, Jim Hecht and Gerry Swallow. Here our trio of heroes will realize that the ice age is in decline and therefore they will need to migrate to higher lands, in a journey full of challenges. Manny may discover that he is not, let’s say, the last mammoth on earth…

Also available on the platform Disney+.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009) / Credits: 20th Century Fox (advertising)

The third film in the series brought the novelty of 3D animation, again directed by Carlos Saldanha, with a screenplay by Peter Ackerman, Michael Berg, Yoni Brenner, Jason Carter Eaton and Mike Reiss. Sid here goes to adopt three dinosaur eggs and ends up being kidnapped by the chicks’ ferocious mother. Sid’s friends: Manny and Diego come to the rescue.

Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012) / Credits: 20th Century Fox (advertising)

3D technology is also present here, but this will be the first film in the series without Brazilian Carlos Saldanha. Directed by Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier. Written by Michael Berg, Jason Fuchs and Mike Reiss. Scrat, always chasing his nut in a relentless chase, generates problems that change the world and cause a continental cataclysm.

Manny, Diego and Sid will live perhaps their greatest adventure yet. In this tide of change, Sid ends up meeting his grandmother, Diego ends up meeting his love interest, and the gang will still have to deal with pirates determined to prevent them from returning home. The film is also part of the platform Disney+.

Ice Age: Collision Course (2016) / Credits: 20th Century Fox (advertising)

Scrat’s search takes him far from Earth, where he accidentally triggers a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the planet. To survive, Manny, Sid, Diego and the rest of the pack will leave their home and embark on a mission full of emotions, with ups and downs, laughs and more critical moments. Could the fifth film be the last? Since the formula is already a bit worn out? No, it won’t be the last. And like all the others, it’s in Disney+.

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild (2022) / Dysnei + (Disclosure)

The sixth film focuses on the character Buck who is a weasel, the film is directed by John C. Donkin with the voices of Simon Pegg, Utkarsh Ambudkar. Buck accompanies his brothers possums to the lost world, Crash and Eddie. They end up trapped in an underground cave and are saved by Buck, when they have to save the Lost World from the domination of dinosaurs.
