US President Joe Biden told Democratic lawmakers on Monday that he is “firmly committed” to his re-election campaign, vowing to stay in the presidential race to defeat his Republican opponent Donald Trump.
“I want you to know that despite all the speculation in the press and elsewhere, I am firmly committed to staying in this race, going all the way, and defeating Donald Trump,” Biden wrote in a letter to lawmakers as he returned to Washington after the July 4 recess.
