The journalist showed evidence suggesting that developer Nexon copied materials from Destiny 2
Nexon has said it will change the icons in The First Descendant after being accused of copying them from Bungie’s Destiny 2.
The discovery of the plagiarism came after Forbes journalist Paul Tassi pointed out the unmistakable similarities between the icons used by The First Descendant and Destiny 2.

Then, players discovered that the evidence pointing to the issue might have been caused by an icon database called Iconduckwhich features several Destiny icons, all supposedly open source under the Creative Commons Zero v.10 Universal license, according to the Iconduck website “all icons can be used for personal and commercial purposes.”
The icon set designer explained that most of them were “taken from the archives created by Bungie and its designers”which has led some players to speculate that these Destiny icons were used and modified by Nexon to be included in The First Descendant.
In a statement sent to IGNNexon did not provide details on the icon creation process, but admitted that Destiny 2 “served as an inspiration during the development process” and promised that he will make changes, which means the icons will be changed.
The First Descendant is available to play on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
