10 days before the premiere of “Deadpool & Wolverine” on July 25, Marvel released a new “teaser” for the film. The minute-long clip doesn’t seem to advance the story much, focusing heavily on some of the on-screen jokes. Although, some characters stole the attention of fans, even when they don’t even look full body.
The trailer shows the image of a female body (with blonde locks) in the mercenary outfit emerging from the dust. In another shot you can see Deadpool’s famous spiked boots and costume, in a slightly darker tone, with a cowboy-style gun. Behind, there are even more people in the iconic red suit. Although Dogpool’s involvement was already predicted, these new appearances left some question marks.
Who is Lady Deadpool?
Although the teaser doesn’t explicitly say so, fans know that the woman with the blonde locks is either Lady Deadpool or Wanda Wilson. Simply put, she’s the female equivalent of the Mercenary with the mouth.
According to the comics, he lives on Earth-3010, where a fascist group in the United States government wanted to impose their will on the citizens, so he decides to fight against these measures.
Some of his most notable attributes are his strength, speed, knowledge of combat techniques (with and without weapons), and the speed at which he recovers from injuries. The latter makes it practically immune to poisons, drugs and disease.
Which actress plays Lady Deadpool in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions among fans. At the moment, Marvel has not revealed the name of the interpreter responsible for the character, but this has not stopped speculation and rumors on social networks. Many fans of the franchise suggest that Blake Lively or Taylor Swift would be under the suit. Both have been linked to the film due to their relationship with Ryan Reynolds (Lively is his wife and Swift is her girlfriend), however, in early July, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that the singer will not be part of the cast.
Other versions of Deadpool to appear in the film
The latest teaser for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ also featured some glimpses of a cowboy-like character. This would correspond to Cowboy Deadpool, also called Deadpool Kid in the comics. What is known about him is that the ‘original’ Mercenary or the one we all know doesn’t agree with some of his actions so he shoots him in the head.
Behind him, you can see an entire entourage of red suits, which suggests that many other versions of Deadpool will be present in the story. In the comics, there are at least twenty variations of the character, each living in their own universe. When they gather, they are called “Deadpool’s army”.
