What does the ending of “Dragon House” season 2 episode 5 reveal?
Rhaenyra and Jace discuss the lack of dragon riders in their ranks and dragons strong enough to defeat Vagar, Emond’s huge dragon. Jace tells her mother that she could call Vermitor and Silverwing, who were in their lair at Dragonstone, as they are big enough to take on Vagar.
He suggests looking for Valyrian descendants in other houses, as only those with blood ties to the Valyrians can claim to ride a dragon. in the sign Fire and blood By George AR Martin, on whom the series is based, the Blacks are called the “Dragon’s Seed”, or the scum of the Targaryen and Velarion men.
This research leads to an important event in The Dance of Dragons called the Red Sowing or Seed Throwing. Therefore the Blacks’ initiative to increase the number of dragons by appealing to the call of dragon riders to their service among the scoundrels and scoundrels of the population of Dragonstone.
Prior to the reigns of Jaehare I Targaryen and Viserys I Targaryen, the Law of the First Night was common on Dragonstone. It was tradition that any Targaryen or Velarion king or lord had the right to spend the bride-to-be’s first night (regardless of rank).
These extramarital affairs, which these women agreed to because the Targaryens and Velarions were considered gods, often resulted in bastards who were respected and well-treated. Jaehaer I Targaryen abolished this right, but many children were born with Valyrian blood.
New dragons are coming!
Armed with this information, Jace calls and promises to knight a man or woman of Valyrian blood who can master the dragon and ennoble their descendants, in order to convince volunteers to join their side and fight alongside the Blacks against the usurper Aegon.
Among the potential candidates introduced by the series in House of the Dragon Season 2 are Elin de Hal (Abubakar Salim) and Adam de Hal (Clinton Liberty), two of Corlis Velarion’s (Steve Toussaint) scoundrels who were brought back with them. Also Hugh Marto (Kieran Bew), a blacksmith who helps make weapons to slay dragons in King’s Landing, and Ulf the White (Tom Bennett), who boasted that his grandfather was the former King Jaehare Targaryen.

No doubt another Dragonseed will rise to answer Jace Velarion’s call. Especially since there are many dragons to tame, such as Vermithor and Silverwing, which are mentioned by Rhaenyra’s son.
But there are other dragons left without a rider, such as Seasmoke, who no longer has Laenor Velarion (John McMillan) as her master after she pretended to be dead. We also find the Sheep Thief, the Gris Specter and the Cannibal.
With this strategy, black could have six extra dragons on his side to fight green. We’ll have to wait for the rest of the series to know if they’ll have as many dragons in their ranks, but one thing’s for sure: expect a lot more dragons on screen in the future. “Dance of Dragons”!
