40 years of career and 1 Oscar: this brilliant actor will be in the Sherlock Holmes series and we are happy!

This is a series we can’t wait to discover. A month ago, Prime Video announced that it was developing a project based on the paper hero, Sherlock Holmes. This new iteration of the famous detective will be played by the young hero Fiennes Tiffin (after Harry Potter).

Adapted from Andy Lane’s literary saga, the series follows the inexperienced Sherlock, only 19 years old. When he finds himself wrapped up in a murder mystery at Oxford University, he plunges into his first case with a distinct lack of discipline. Then he tries to unravel a conspiracy that could change his life forever.

From Kingsman to Sherlock

To round out his wonderful cast, which also includes Joseph Fiennes and Natasha McElhone (who will play the future Bloodline’s parents), Guy Ritchie chose Colin Firth. This is the first collaboration between the acclaimed director and the 63-year-old actor (who won an Oscar for The King’s Speech). The former Kingsman cast member here plays a certain Sir Bucephalus Hodge, whose exact role has not been revealed. Will he be an enemy or an ally?

We’ll have to wait a while to see this interpretation of the British character on our screens, but we can only hope that Guy Ritchie gives us a series similar to the Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law duology:

“In Young Sherlock, we will see an exciting new version of the detective who everyone thinks they know more than they ever imagined. We will discover this mysterious character, find out what motivates him and find out how he becomes a genius. We all love each other.” He explained in a press release.

This isn’t the first time the landlord of 221b Baker Street has been adapted for the small screen. The most famous is probably Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss about fifteen years ago with Benedict Cumberbatch. Will Young Sherlock Matthew Parkhill (Snape) screenwriter reach his level…
