“House of the Dragon” will have several seasons in which it will explain the future of its characters. The HBO series is expected to faithfully take many aspects of “Fire and Blood,” the George RR Martin book it’s based on, including how the deaths of dragons and their riders will be.

This is how the dragons and horsemen of ‘House of the Dragon’ die
Silverwing and Ulf White
Ulf is the bastard brother of Viserys and Daemon and as part of Rhaenyra Targaryen’s “dragon seeds” strategy, he ends up riding Silverwing.
According to the book, he betrays the Blacks and goes to the Greens. But his actions anger Aegon Targaryen’s team and they manage to poison Ulf with wine.
Silverwing is one of the four dragons that survive the Dance of the Dragons and become wild and untamed.
Vermithor and Hugh Hammer
Hugh Hammer is the bastard who claims Vermithor according to ‘Fire and Blood’. He also ends up betraying the Blacks.
In the book he feels empowered to claim the Iron Throne, which angers the Greens. So they plan a coup to finish him off, until a knight named Jon Roxton stabs him.
For his part, Vermithor dies of his wounds after a battle against the dragons Seasmoke and Tessarion.
Vhagar and Aemond Targaryen
Aemond Targaryen and Vhagar die almost simultaneously in a confrontation against Daemon and his dragon Caraxes. This takes place in Harrenhal in the middle of the Dance of Dragons.
Caraxes and Daemon Targaryen
Tragically, Caraxes and Daemon Targaryen also die in this dogfight against Vhagar and Aemond Targaryen, known as the Battle over the Gods Eye. .
Sunfyre and Aegon Targaryen
According to the book, Aegon is poisoned with red wine, although it is never known who is responsible. They find him in his bed with blood on his lips.
After surviving several battles, Sunfyre dies after slaying Moondancer, Baela Targaryen’s dragon.
Syrax and Rhaenyra Targaryen
In the book, Rhaenyra Targaryen dies in a brutal way: she is captured by her half-brother Aegon II, who orders his dragon Sunfyre to kill her and then eat her. All before the eyes of Aegon III, the youngest son of the leader of the Blacks.
For his part, Syrax is killed in a battle known as the Assault on the Dragon Well, at the hands of a mob.
Dreamfyre and Helaena Targaryen
Helaena Targaryen’s death is one of the saddest as she ends her life by jumping out of a window. The reasons for this decision are not entirely clear.
Dreamfyre is riderless and killed by a mob in the Dragonpit. His head is then exposed to cause horror.
Vermax and Jacaerys Velaryon
Jacaerys Velaryon dies in battle. Vermax’s dragon is attacked and ends up falling into the sea, losing his life. In this act Jacaerys manages to jump from his dragon, but is knocked down by a crossbow.
