At a time when competing streaming companies are negotiating bundles to sell their services in the same subscription that could be mutually beneficial, Netflix has said it will not follow this trend.
The Web site expiration revealed a letter it sent to shareholders this week announcing its second-quarter financial results, in which the company explained why it will not directly partner with competing streamers, citing Disney+ and Max.
“Since the early days of streaming, we have seen partnerships with device manufacturers, pay TV and mobile operators as key to ensuring Netflix is easy to find and use,” Netflix said.

“We are not bundling Netflix with other streaming services like Disney+ or Max because Netflix already operates as an entertainment destination thanks to the breadth and variety of our catalog and superior product experience,” the streaming giant’s letter reads.
“This has strengthened our industry-leading penetration, engagement and retention, which limits the advantage for Netflix to directly merge with other companies,” the statement added.
