Oscar-winning documentary 20 Days in Mariupol debuts on Netflix

The production, which addresses the Russian invasion of Ukraine, won the Best Documentary category at this year’s Oscars.

Previously only available for purchase and rental on digital platforms, 20 Days in Mariupolthe film that won the Best Documentary award at this year’s Oscars, arrived on Netflix last Sunday, July 21st.

Ukrainian’s debut documentary Mstyslav Chernov, 20 Days in Mariupolportrays the twenty days that the filmmaker spent with his fellow journalists in the siege of Mariupol after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, in the first months of 2022.

At the 2024 Oscars, the production won over films such as Kill a Tiger (2022), Bobi Wine: The People’s President (2022), The 4 Daughters of Olfa (2023) and The Infinite Memory (2023), to win the coveted golden statuette. Watch the trailer below:
