Javier Mascherano had previously warned about the lack of security. The coach reported that his players were robbed during a training session in Paris. Contacted by the Estadão report, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has not yet commented on the case.

“They came into training and robbed us. They took the watch, Thiago Almada’s rings… in training. We didn’t want to say anything after training,” Mascherano said when meeting the press present at the site.

With the defeat against Morocco, Argentina finished the first half of the season in 3rd place in Group B and will make up for lost ground on Saturday 27 against Iraq, who beat Ukraine in their debut.
