The series of novels written by American George R.R. Martin, A Song of Ice and Fire, was the great inspiration for Game of Thrones, one of the biggest television productions of recent years, even if with an ending that not everyone liked.
The series has become a pop culture staple, with fans all over the world. As such, it ended up getting the spin-off House of The Dragon, set in the same universe, and its second season was released in June of that year.
The book series has five titles, the last of which was released in 2011. Since then, fans have been waiting for the sixth book that should conclude the story, but there is no release date yet. According to Martin, in an interview last year, the last book already has more than 1,100 pages.
Until the end comes, discover the other books in the saga and what is the order for a reading that will understand the universe.
Order of books The House of the Dragon
While the following order is correct for the books, it is important to clarify that, thinking about the chronology of the story, it is ideal to start reading the second work onwards first, and then read the first. This way you will become familiar with Martin’s universe, making it easier to understand “Fire and Blood”.
Another suggestion from readers is to read “A Feast for Crows” together with “A Dance with Dragons”, simultaneously and spacing out the reading of the chapters of the works, to see the pieces fit together.
Fire and Blood

It has a chronicle format and details the dynasty’s rise, challenges, and internal struggles, including the devastating civil war called the Dance of the Dragons.
