Brazilian beats Israeli Raz Hershko in Olympic decider
The first gold medal at the Olympics always moves everyone emotionally. The medal won by Beatriz Souza in Paris was no different: the result of the Brazilian made all the fans who witnessed the decision go crazy. But one person in particular was particularly happy: Daniel Sousa, the judoka’s husband. His reaction also went viral on social media.
With a broad smile, Daniel celebrated long after Bia was crowned Olympic champion. This was the Brazilian’s first participation in the Olympic Games and she has already managed to reach the highest place on the podium. The judoka had an impeccable conduct throughout the competition, beating the two best-ranked wrestlers in the world, in the semifinal and in the decision.
In the final, the Brazilian defeated the Israeli Raz Hershko, number 2 in the world ranking, with a waza-ari, at the beginning of the fight, which took place in the early afternoon of this Friday (2). The Brazilian judoka won the first gold of the Brazilian delegation at the Games.
