The main draw of the BT 100 tournament in Rio Brilhante (MS) got underway this Friday, the first international Beach Tennis tournament in the history of Mato Grosso do Sul, valid for the world circuit of the International Tennis Federation.

Home athletes Haryson Amaral, runner-up on Wednesday in the BT 10, and Cleidson Rodrigues made their debuts on the right foot, opening the program on the center court of the Bora Beach Arena. They beat the pair Carlos Freitas and Marcus Miranda with a double 6/4 and will seek a place in the quarterfinals against the main favorites, Davi Ballerini and Matheus Buemo, who scored 6/1 6/2 over Rafael Lopes and Gustavo Vecchiatto.

Former top 10 and world runner-up for Brazil in 2017, Ralff Abreu and his partner João Lauro Carneiro also started well, posting a double 6/2 over Johnny Pena and Natã Silva. Seeded 4, they will face young Goiás natives Henrique Medeiros and Guido Rupp.

The third favorite pair, Pedro Mattos and Lucas Lima, beat Igor Ferreira and Yan Santos with a double 6/2. They get Caio Aquino and Luis Ricci. The second seeds, Elias Giolo and Matheus Belo, defeated João de Souza and Gustavo Hara with a double 6/2 and face Cauã Barbosa and Guilherme Lima. Also participating in the round of 16 is the home athlete Gabriel Balta, together with Luis Barbosa. They scored a double 6/3 on Luan Keller and Tauã Rocha and face Ricardo dos Santos and Pedro Santos.
