Why does Henry Cavill remove his tongue in his new movie? It’s an actor’s idea

If you’re looking for some good entertainment this summer, then head over to Prime Video. The platform has acquired the rights to Guy Ritchie’s new film.

It’s called The Dirty War Ministry and tells the true story of the first special forces organization created during World War II by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials, including author Ian Fleming.

This secret warfare unit, made up of a motley crew of thugs and snipers, completes a daring mission against the Nazis using highly unconventional and thoroughly “ungentlemanly” combat techniques.

Ultimately, their bold approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern covert operations warfare.

Gentlemen… but not so much!

In Ministry of Dirty War – which also stars Alan Ritchson (Reacher), Cary Elwes (Stranger Things), Eiza Gonzalez (The 3-Body Problem) and Hero Fiennes (After) – Henry Cavill slips into the shoes of the Major. Gus March-Phillips, a British soldier who actually existed and who was known for his… unorthodox methods.

To emphasize this aspect, Cavill had carte blanche from the director to improvise and experiment on set. That’s how the two men came up with the idea for the rather odd facial expression we see throughout the film: sticking out his tongue as he takes out the Nazis at all costs…

“A fun way to show your unbalanced side” The two men explain in an interview.

A gesture that we already see in the trailer and which did not react to the Internet users in the social network X:

“Gus is Henry. How does he stick his tongue out there . . .”

“Henry Cavill looks mmmm, tongue sticking out”

“Guy Ritchie is the king of casting and I’ve enjoyed all of his recent movies, but why do all the commercials show Henry Cavill sticking his tongue out ten times in KISS?”

“You can tell the marketing team loved Henry Cavill’s tongue out scene because you see it everywhere…”

“I feel like Henry Cavill’s tongue out will be a new overload of hands.” (Mission Impossible 6, Editor’s Note)“.

“He plays Gus perfectly”

The screenwriter of the film, Arash Amell, who adapted the book by Damien Lewis, explains again Diversity That the real Gus March-Phillips could have improvised this mime because it was definitely against the rules:

“It is absolutely who it is. This is the guy who blew up a bridge in Norway even though his orders specifically told him not to. He almost went to court-martial for it.

He only lived to kill Nazis like Alan Ritchson’s character. These guys don’t come from the same mold as us. Maybe Gas took out his tongue, who knows? Either way, Cavill plays Gus perfectly.”

Dirty War Ministry, catch up on Prime Video.
