Last Friday (16), Alicia Keys announced that she had obtained recognition for her song Nobody. It was certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
“A song that is there for us when we need it most. Singing this song together, all over the world, is always magical. Thank you for loving “No One” like you do! Keep singing your heart out!!! We have diamond status, baby!!!!!” she wrote on Instagram, sharing a snippet from the music video.
The award comes a month after Alicia earned her first diamond certification for the song she and Jay-Z sang State of mind of the Empire. It is worth mentioning that they performed the song during the 2024 Tony Awards.
Nobody It was the first single from Keys’ third studio album, How I am. According to Billboard, the song spent five weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number one on three other charts: Pop Airplay (five weeks), Mainstream Top 40 Recurrents, and Rhythmic Airplay. Nobody won Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 2008 Grammy Awards.
It is worth emphasizing Alicia Keys was recently included in Billboard’s list of The 25 Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century: Honorable Mentions.
“It’s hard to imagine the first half of the 2000s without Songs in A Minor and The Diary of Alicia Keys and their spectacular singles; subsequent albums produced music for heavy hearts for much of the next decade, a welcome presence in film and TV.”, the publication stated.
