CNU: Abstention from “Enem dos Concursos” tests exceeded 50%, says Minister of Management

According to Esther Dwek, given the extent of the competition, the government expected a high percentage; the final figures will be released on Monday 19th.

Abstain from exams CNU (Unified National Competition)The “Enem dos Concursos”, held on Sunday 18, obtained 52% against 53%. The contest had 2.1 million registrants and approximately 1 million took the test. The data was released by Esther Dweckminister of Management and Innovation in Public Services.

According to her, the final figures will be announced on Monday, the 19th. The competition offers 6,640 permanent vacancies in 21 federal offices.

Although preliminary participation represents an abstention rate of 52% to 53%, Esther celebrated the result at a press conference and said that the absence was within the department’s expectations.

“It is in line with our expectations compared to other public procurements of this size,” he stressed. “It was a positive surprise given the scale of this competition. We must keep in mind that these are people who have probably never participated in a federal competition,” the minister said.

The lowest abstention rate was recorded in the Federal District, while the highest in Ceará, but the exact percentages were not provided.

Regarding the blocks, number 8, of medium and technical level, whose number of registrations was the highest among all the blocks (694 thousand), was the one with the highest number of absences. At the opposite extreme, according to the Ministry, block 3, Environmental, Agricultural and Biological, recorded a greater participation.

Divided into eight content blocks, the CNU took place this Sunday in two shifts. In the morning, candidates took the tests of general culture and discourse – for higher education – and Portuguese and writing, for secondary level.

In the afternoon, intermediate level candidates took tests on the notions of law, mathematics and reality, while the others took tests on specific knowledge.

The contest was applied in 228 cities. Esther also celebrated the public participation, saying that the race had registrations from practically all Brazilian municipalities – only 10 cities had no registrations, according to the minister.

According to the ministry, no serious complications have been reported by the federal government. Some test sites suffered from a lack of light, but this, according to Esther, did not interfere with the competition.
