‘Tuning’: remember what happened in the first two seasons

New episodes arrive on Netflix this Wednesday the 13th

Netflix will release the episodes of the 3rd season of Tuning this Wednesday 13. The production was born from an idea of ​​KondZilla and takes a look at the reality of the Brazilian favelas.

The series tells the story of friends Nando (Christian Malheiros), Rita (Bruna Mascarenhas) e MC Doni (Jottape). They represent, respectively, three pillars present in the communities: organized crime, the church and funk.

Nando became a father in his teens and had to take on responsibilities to support his family. After being fired from his job and not finding new opportunities, he ends up entering the world of drug trafficking.

Rita, who sold counterfeit goods on subway walkways to earn a living, ends up having to take refuge in an evangelical church and “changes her life” after attending services. While Doni dreams of being a successful funker and invests in his musical career.

Before watching the new episodes of the series, remember what happened in the first two seasons:

1st season

The first season of the series has six episodes that develop each of the characters within the pillar they represent. There are three parallel stories that are intertwined by their friendship.

Rita has her goods confiscated by the police while trying to sell them on the subway. Before the confusion, she had bought marijuana for someone outside the community, but the drug ends up in her friend Cacau’s affairs.

Then Cocoa is arrested and ends up in a shelter for minors. Cacau’s mother beats Rita about her and expels her from the house where she lived.

This is how Rita ends up in an evangelical church. She needed a place to sleep and starts attending services. She is baptized into religion and leaves the old life behind her.

At the same time, Doni lives in hopes of becoming a funk star. She has one of her songs stolen from her by MC Dondoka. Despite this, her career begins to rise.

He is overwhelmed by the shows and friends advise him not to be dazzled by the success. Doni’s father, who didn’t like the idea that his son wanted to be a funker, dies of a heart attack.

Even in mourning, the singer continues to invest in his career and makes his first TV appearance. He too manages to sign a record deal.

Unemployed, Nando starts working in drug trafficking. He begins to live the “life of crime”, becomes one of the main drug dealers in the hood and starts putting his life at risk.

2nd season

Season 2 also has six episodes. Doni manages to become a successful funk singer and tries to viralize a partnership with MC Luzi.

Now baptized, Rita begins bonding with Levi, the pastor’s son, and together they try to raise money for the local church. And Doni falls in love with influencer Tally.

Nando begins to take on more and more responsibilities as a drug lord and needs to reconcile this life with his family: he will go back to being a father.
