The new series from the universe of ‘The Boys’ will have crossovers between characters from both shows

Eric Kripke, the showrunner of ‘The Boys’has already revealed enough details of the new spin-off of the series after ‘The Boys: Diabolical’, ‘Varsity’, to give us a general idea of where the shots are going to go.
And the timing could not be more perfect, since ‘Varsity’ will run parallel to the events we just witnessed in season 3 from Amazon Prime Video’s ‘The Boys’.
‘The Boys’ has explored in its third season a central question for Hughie: if the end justifies the means, if it is worth taking unethical paths and betraying our principles in order to bring down a common enemy. This debate has divided the protagonists in the new episodes, with Butcher and Hughie determined to use Soldier Boy to take down Patriot while Starlight, Mother’s Milk, Frenchie and Kimiko searched for another plan that did not require association with mass murderers.
‘Varsity’ seems to seek another approach away from the political, feminist and anti-capitalist satire of ‘The Boys’ in a high school comedy where teenagers, yes, will maintain the level of savagery, blood and guts shown by Garth Ennis’ adaptation of the comics.
‘Varsity’ synopsis
“Part high school/college series, part ‘The Hunger Games,’ with all the heart, satire, and smut from ‘The Boys.‘”. This is the announcement made by Prime Video when announcing the new spin-off, which will take place in the Godolkin University Crime Fighting School run by Voughtthe only all-supers school in America, and will feature some events from Season 3 of ‘The Boys’ in the background.
According to Kripke, the university will focus on America’s next generation of superheroes and, in particular, on the G-Men, the parody of Marvel’s X-Men created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, which were briefly mentioned in the first season of ‘The Boys’. The premise of the show will be “an irreverent R-rated series that will explore the lives of hormonal and competitive ‘Supes’ as they test their physical, sexual and moral limitscompeting for the best contracts in the best cities”.
‘Varsity’ cast
For now, the confirmed cast of ‘The Boys Presents: Varsity’ will include patrick schwarzenegger like goldenboy, Sean Patrick Thomas like polarities, Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau Marco Pigosi as Edison Cardosa, Chance Perdomo and Shelley Connfrom ‘The Bridgertons’.
Kripke has also dropped that some character from the original series could be seen on the show: “there will definitely be crossovers, and we’re doing our best to design a universe that sees some of the issues and storylines from Season 3 carry over to the first season in ‘Varsity.’ There’s a presidential campaign going on in the background of that season, and there are certain things that are going on at that school that are both a reaction to ‘The Boys’ season 3, like Soldier Boy, et cetera, but also some new storylines that are happening in that season of the spinoff that we have to pick up and take into account in Season 4 of the show.”
‘Varsity’ release date
After several delays, Varsity production began in May 2022 with Kripke as executive producer and is expected to be finished sometime in October, so we can expect a premiere in 2023 before season 4 of ‘The Boys’ comes to light.
‘Varsity’, trailer and images
At the moment there is no trailer or official image of the series, but we have been able to take a look at the facade of the School for Fighting Crime with a couple of statues honoring two of the supers who died in previous seasons of ‘The Boys’: Translúcido and El Farolero. Although that of the latter is covered, we can verify that the similarity of the tribute to Translúcido with the character he is very successful.
