The Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) confirmed, this Thursday (12), the fine of R$ 80 thousand imposed on Botafogo for the case of the hanging dolls with the faces of the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, and Palmeiras representative Leila Pereira.

The Rio club received a complaint under Article 213 of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice (CBJD) for failing to prevent and repress disturbances in the sports sector. The episode also included the loss of command on the field from one to ten games, but the punishment was limited to the fine imposed.

Hours before the ball rolled for Botafogo x Palmeiras, dolls were hung with the faces of the leaders. The incident occurred in the away section of the Nilton Santos stadium.

The Rio de Janeiro military police have already identified the perpetrator. He is a member of one of the club’s main organized fan groups. In the civil sphere, the case has been handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office by the PM, requesting the ban on fans from stadiums.
