After Un Village français, Engrenages, Le Bazar de la Charité and HPI, whose second part of the 4th season is currently airing on TF1, Audrey Fleuro will be back together. Countess of Monte Cristoseries that marks his debut as a producer.
It was during a meeting with the readers of Le Parisien that the actress spoke about the rest of her career, which began production last year through her company Bahia Blanca. Her goal: to tell her own stories and create her own projects to attend “The whole process of writing, art direction, choosing actors, directorsAs he explained at the La Rochelle Festival of Fantasy in 2023.
And for his first performance, the actor thinks big, rereading The Count of Monte Cristo In the version of the female series for TF1 – and this after the recent adaptation of the legendary novel by Pierre Nin, which is currently enjoying a huge success with its 8 million downloads!
“In September 2025 I will start shooting a TV series for TF1: The Countess of Monte Cristo“- he revealed. “I found the gate, a completely different light that brings another question. When the channel commissioned me, I wondered if it was a poisoned chalice to feminize cinema’s most appropriate character. But this novel fascinated me the most, and the series with Jacques Weber, before Gérard Depardieu, was my first shock on television. It was a shame to refuse. We had to find the right idea to justify another version.”
Read between the lines
But above all, it is the new angle of the story that it presents, a real reinterpretation of a work that we know by heart and which, therefore, should bring surprises to us.
“Dumas writes a line in a journal as he leaves. It has no big picture, hence the endless diversions. In adaptations, rationally speaking, we always highlight the same episodes when, in fact, we could have chosen 1000 gates, very different lights that bring a different question. For the first production, we start with a large mural.”
And who says big fresco says big budget: the series in which he will also star will therefore cost “very expensive” and will be produced with the Itineraire Productions (HPI) teams. “There, we are going to visit the sets– he concluded at last. This is promising.
While waiting to discover this ambitious project, Audrey Fleuro can be seen every Thursday in the second part of the 4th season of HPI, broadcast on TF1.
