There have been changes on Olympus. Actor Jeff Goldblum (“Jurassic World: Dominion”) has replaced Hugh Grant (“The Undoing”) in the lead role of “Kaos”, a series in development at Netflix, which will address Greek mythology. Grant had to leave production due to scheduling conflicts.
In a dark comedy tone, the attraction intends to show an unstable and bored Zeus, who notices the passage of time when one day he wakes up and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Convinced that his end is near, he begins to see plots and signs everywhere, becoming more and more unreliable, paranoid and dangerous.
Goldblum will play Zeus in the production and the cast also includes Janet McTeer (“Ozark”) as his wife Hera, David Thewlis (“Fargo”) as his brother Ade and Nabhaan Rizwan (“Station Eleven”) as their rebellious son Dionysus. The cast still features Cliff Curtis (“Fear Of The Walking Dead”) as Poseidon, although in the plot he is more interested in his new yacht than the god of the seas.
But as the gods are in crisis, mortals begin to realize that they no longer meet their needs and organize to deal with them – among them, the characters played by Aurora Perrineau (“Westworld”), Killian Scott (“Dublin Murders”) “), Misia Butler (” Kiss me first “) and Leila Farzad (” I hate Suzie “).
Created by Charlie Covell (“The End Of The F *** World”), the series will have eight episodes produced by Sister (British producer of “Chernobyl”) and directed by Georgi Banks-Davies (“I Hate Suzie”) and Runyararo Mapfumo (“Sex Education”).
“I’m very excited to do ‘Kaos’, I couldn’t think of a more dynamic cast and a group of people more willing to make everything I’m writing real. Georgi and Runyararo are visionary directors and have a great sense of humor with them. “Covell said in a statement on the project.
Filming will begin later this year.
