Composers are responsible for successful projects such as ‘The Boy and the World’, nominated for the highest international cinema award
Director and screenwriter Bruno H. Castroresponsible for the new animated short Tubaroa — which will star Marisa Orth and Kelner Macêdo —, showed great attention to the work’s soundtrack by inviting Ruben Feffer and Gustavo Kurlatindicated to the Oscar by production The Boy and the World in 2016 and winners in the edition of Annecy that year.
The duo has previously worked on animated shorts Guide and I bleedin which Bruno is co-creator and screenwriter. They also sign the track Titus and the Birds and Empirium.

Founder of Utrassom Music Ideas, Ruben Feffer is responsible for the soundtrack and musical direction of several animated series, such as Jorel’s brother, Turma da Mônica – Let’s Play and Tom and Vinicius. He also produced music for realities and live-action series.
Gustavo Kurlat In addition to being a musical director for theater and cinema, he is a translator, educator and broadcaster, with more than 70 plays performed. He has already won the SHELL, APCA and FEMSA Theater awards, as an author and composer and was director of the shows Sung Word and Barbatuques.
The team intends to work on the sound of Tubaroa with an orchestra. And the inspirations for the creation of the soundtrack include the musical production of the Universidade de Música da Bahia during the 1950s, especially by Walter Smetak and Tom Zéalong with experimentalism and psychedelia from Pernambuco, the place where the story takes place.

The watercolor production follows the conversation between a greedy fisherman and a pregnant and hungry tiger shark, played by the actors Kelner Macêdo and Marisa Orthrespectively, who entered the short from the beginning. The management is a partnership with Tiago Minamisawawith whom he also developed the short I bleedawarded at Chicago Festival and in Gramado Festival.
With Tubaroa, Bruno aims to address issues such as self-destruction, the power of dialogue and the importance of vulnerability, themes that are fundamental today, amid discussions of burnout and mental fatigue.
It is a very powerful and personal text. I’m happy with it, the film deals with the importance of human beings’ respect for nature and, on a deeper layer, reflects on a man’s relationship with drugs. But more than an answer, the film proposes that we learn to dialogue. – Bruno H. Castro

Bruno H. Castro He is also one of the film’s screenwriters. Half of Uscurrently showing in selected cinemas and winner of the Audience Award from 47th São Paulo International Film Festival. One of the early milestones in his career was the animated short Guide (2014), which Bruno signs script and executive production and received awards from renowned Anima Mundi Animation Festival and Annecy Festival.
