Inter Miami beat Columbus Crew 3-2, this Wednesday (2), in the 32nd round of Major League Soccer. The winning goals came from Lionel Messi, who scored two in the first half, and Luiz Suárez who closed the scoring in the second half.
With the result, the Florida team secured first place in the Eastern Conference. As the Los Angeles Galaxy, leaders of the Western Conference, can no longer catch up, Messi’s team also secured the Supporters’ Shield, a trophy awarded to the team with the best season in the MLS regular season.
Messi shines once again
Lionel Messi opened the scoring for the visitors in the 44th minute of the first half, with a great goal after a dribble that erased play and touched the goalkeeper. Still in the first phase, five minutes later, another goal from the number 10, from a free kick.
Right at the start of the final phase, before the first minute, the home team was reduced through Diego Rossi. On the second goal, Luis Suárez scored with his head, in the penalty area, and increased the score. Cucho Hernández recovered one for the Columbus Crew, in the 15th minute, but the home team was unable to tie the game.

Now, for the 33rd round of the MLS, Inter Miami will visit Toronto next Saturday (5th), at 5pm (Brasilia time). Meanwhile, on the same day, at 8.30pm, the Columbus Crew hosts Philadelphia.
