William Bonner he recalled some stories lived alongside the greats Cid Moreira. The presenter, who directed the Jornal Nacional for more than 20 years, died this Thursday, 3 years old, at the age of 97.

Since the news of his death was spread, Globo has paid tribute to him in all the house’s programs and the Meeting was no different. Asked to comment, Bonner recounted how Cid warmed up his distinctive voice before going on air on JN. According to him, the journalist had two ways to do this.
“First of all it made noise. This noise in the corridors of Globo was a sign that he was approaching. He also had a vocal exercise which was a song, the verse of which went: “It is the king Saravá Nagô”. He sustained the last syllable with a low tone that made the place where he stood tremble,” he says.
Known for his “golden” voice, Bonner highlights Cid. “Nobody was able to do itjust Cid Moreira with the most wonderful voice Brazilian TV has ever had,” he points out.

Cid dies at the age of 97
Cid Moreira, iconic presenter, journalist and announcer, died this Thursday morning, aged 3, aged 97. He was admitted to a hospital in Petrópolis, in the Serrana region of Rio de Janeiro, to be treated for pneumonia. According to the hospital unit, the cause of death was multiple organ failure.
