“Huge Baby”: You didn’t know this actor from La Casa de Papel in La Plateforme 2 on Netflix!

Four years after the success of the platform on Netflix, the screenwriter and director Galder Gaztelu-Urutia returns with a new film in this dystopian world that shocked the whole world.

Let us remind you that La Plateforme immerses us in the dark tower of the prison called “La Fosse”, which is crossed in its center by slabs, which carry special dishes prepared by cooks and descend from floor to floor to feed the prisoners.

This system favors the former and starves the latter. Each prisoner is allowed to take an item to occupy himself and has 2 minutes to eat what he can on the platform, but cannot keep food in the cell that he shares with another prisoner.

What is La Plateforme 2 about?

If the first film followed the journey of Goreng (Ivan Massagüey), the second film introduces us to new characters imprisoned in the “pit”, including Perempuan (Milena Smith) and Zamyatin (Hovik Keuchkerian), who live in the same cell. The same desire to escape into this hideous tower.

But when a mysterious leader imposes his law on the platform, they find themselves embroiled in a battle against a brutal power system. But when eating from the wrong plate turns into a death sentence, how far will you go to save your life?

Did you know this actor from “La Casa de Papel”?

Among the headliners of The Platform 2 we find Hovic Keuchkerian as Zamyatin, a man with a large body mass and no hair on his rock or the rest of his body. Behind this imposing exterior lies a being broken by life and his past, clinging to the rest of his humanity as best he can.

If his appearance is one of his distinguishing marks, it shouldn’t have been that way in the first place. His translator explained in an interview that it was his idea, because Zamyatin’s description was not written in the script at first:

“His image came to me out of nowhere, a huge, massive baby that could burn to the skin. I spoke to Galder and said, ‘I see this guy as a huge baby, with no clothes on, just his underwear. “

And to step into Zamyatin’s shoes, Hovic Keuchkerian has completely transformed. The process was important to him and helped to interpret his character:

“At the time I weighed 137 kilograms, but I gained weight for the film and I was 154 kilograms. We did our first full shave a week before the shooting. And we had to look in the mirror. With all this pain, this darkness on the platform, it created a real atmosphere, so with this new look , he added emotional strength.

And with this impressive transformation, you might not recognize the actor. Because Hovic Keushkerian is a well-known Spanish-Lebanese actor, who was particularly distinguished in La Casa de Papel as Bogotá, but also in The Night Manager as Tabi, with Tom Hiddleston.
