How are the reinforcements doing since the last window at Fluminense

Tricolor has signed six players for the second half of the Brasileirão, all of whom have already played; look how they are

With the team, at the time, in the last positions of the Brasileirão, Fluminense needed to open their coffers in the last transfer window, which ended in September. There were six acquisitions that the Laranjeiras team made to its squad.

And how are they going in this first month after arrival? The buyers in question are defenders Thiago Silva and Ignacio, left-back Gabriel Fuentes, midfielders Facundo Bernal, Nonato and Victor Hugo, as well as striker Kevin Serna.

Thiago Silva, obviously, is the most impactful reinforcement. After all, after leaving the club in 2008, he returned after 14 years with the intention of winning the Libertadores, which he spent almost in his last year with the Tricolor. This goal will not be achieved anytime soon, as Influenza fell to Atlético-MG in the quarter-finals. Now all attention is on the captain who helps the team avoid relegation to Serie B.

Since arriving from Chelsea, the Monster has made 13 appearances, scoring one goal. Fluminense improved significantly with the defender, winning eight of these clashes. His fellow defender, Ignácio, does not play due to a left knee injury. The defender, in fact, has played just two games since arriving from Sporting Cristal (PER).

Bernal is a national team

Facundo Bernal is a midfielder and arrived from Defensor (URU). He, in fact, attracted the attention of his team, having been called up by Uruguay for the current FIFA match. He has already played ten games with Fluzão, nine of which as a starter.

Another foreigner is Kevin Serna. This, after Thiago Silva, could be the main signing so far. In 15 games he has already contributed with a goal and two assists, earning himself a starting place. The Colombian, however, is injured and may not play again in 2024.

The person who was injured was also Nonato. The 26-year-old returned to Fluminense, made nine appearances (with one assist), but soon picked up an injury, breaking his nose in a match against Botafogo. Another midfielder, Victor Hugo, arrived on loan from Cascavel and is the least popular of the reinforcements. So far the 20-year-old has two appearances, one as a starter.
