The last day to save the “forgotten money” in the Central Bank credit system it is in this Wednesday, 4pm. After this date, according to the Ministry of Finance, the money can be incorporated into the National Treasury coffers. Find out below how to request a refund of the amounts and see questions and answers on the topic, although it will be possible to request the “forgotten money” amounts after the deadline.

How to withdraw “forgotten money”?

The Central Bank warns that the only site where you can consult the credits is the https://valoresareceber.bcb.gov.br. You need to access the site and click on “Check if you have amounts to receive”. Enter the data and click on “Consult”. After the query shows that there are amounts to be received, the citizen must click on “Log in to the SVR” and, if there is no waiting list, he will be directed to the gov.br login page. Find out what will be needed for access in the case of individuals and companies:

  • To access the values of the user (individual) or deceased persons, the gov.br account must be silver or gold level;
  • To access the legal entity values, the gov.br account must have the CNPJ linked (any link type, except Employee).

The user will have 30 minutes inside the system. This will take you to the “My Credits” option. Next, you will need to read and accept the Recognition Agreement and you will see on the screen the amount to be received, the name and contact details of the institution that will return the amount, as well as the origin (type) of the amount. In some cases other information will also appear.

The user must click on “Request here” and select a Pix key, in which case the institution will return the amount within 12 working days – not necessarily via Pix (you can do TED, for example). It is important to maintain the protocol number.

What is the credit value system?

The Values Receivable System (SVR) is a Central Bank service where citizens can check whether they, their company or a deceased person has “forgotten money” in a bank, consortium or other institution – and, if so , they will. can request the amount.

What were the greatest rescues ever carried out?

The largest amount redeemed so far was made by a company (legal entity), which, in March 2023, withdrew R$3.3 million. The largest withdrawal for private individuals occurred in July 2023: R$2.8 million.

What’s the biggest save to make?

A single person has R$11.2 million available for withdrawal, as announced by the BC in September. Among legal entities, the maximum amount available is R$30.4 million.

Is it possible to recover money from deceased people?

Yes. To request and receive these sums, however, you must be the heir, executor or legal representative of the deceased person. The consultation procedure is similar to the one described above, but when filling in the required data it is necessary to enter the CPF and the date of birth of the deceased person.

Even when requesting a refund, the procedure is similar: first you need to go to the Central Bank website and click on “Access the credit value system”. If there is no queue, the user will be directed to the login page. You must log in with the gov.br account of the heir/inventor accessing the system and not with the account of the deceased. The account must be Silver or Gold level. Once identified, access the “Values for Deceased Persons” option within the system and enter the CPF and date of birth of the deceased person.

The next step is the release of the Term of Liability for consulting third party data: you must confirm that you are authorized to carry out the consultation as you are heir, executor or legal representative of the deceased person. Only people who find themselves in one of these conditions are authorized to request the redemption of valuables.

To request the redemption, the user must contact the institution directly, using the contact details provided in the system, and ask for the necessary documentation to receive the amount from the deceased person. The refund will be made in accordance with what has been agreed with the financial institution. The user will be able to view the receipt, which contains information about the amount to be received in the name of the deceased person. You can save, print or share your receipt.

How was the deadline established?

The deadline for recovering the “forgotten money” is established in law 14,973/24, which concerns the gradual reimbursement of paychecks, approved by Congress and sanctioned by President Lula this month. According to the ministry, “forgotten” resources in the bank accounts of individuals and legal entities that are not claimed by holders will be incorporated by the National Treasury. Interested parties have a deadline of 30 days from the date of entry into force of the law (16 September) to request the repayment of the sums to the financial institutions. That is, until this Wednesday, October 16th.

How to request forgotten money after the deadline expires?

If the interested party does not respect the deadline, he will still have 30 days to dispute the payment and request the amounts starting from the date of publication of the notice by the Ministry of Finance. The file will indicate the depository institution, the entity, the nature and the account number of the deposit so that the holders can contest the collection by the Treasury.

“Only after the end of this second period, and if there is no declaration by those entitled to the deposits, the amounts will be incorporated into the National Treasury”, informs the Ministry in a note.

There is also the option to apply for rights to the resources in court, within six months of the publication of the notice, according to the Treasury. Without further objection, the values will be definitively incorporated as “primary budget revenue and considered for the purposes of verifying compliance with the primary result objective”, specifies the ministry.
